Whoare we?
m|a agile consulting was founded in 2005 by Matt Aimonetti & Heidi Vega. Since then, we have offered our services to companies around the world. Based in San Diego, CA, we work with other great local developers and designers to ensure our customers the best business value.
Rails core contributor, Hackfest winner, author of multiple rails plugins and Ruby gems (Globalite, ActiveRecord-backup, GoogleCharts, mimeType-fu... ), and contributor of many popular projects. Matt is also quite involved with the Ruby/Rails community. If he's not working on his laptop, he's probably hanging out with the SD.rb guys.
Whatdo we offer?
Focused on customer needs, we offer consulting (from release planning and strategy planning to Agile development training), code audit, and of course, software development.
We believe that Ruby and two of its frameworks, Ruby on Rails and Merb would provide you with the best value and flexibility. It's precisely the reason why we specialized in these technologies.
From online educational software to social networks, without forgetting video upload and streaming, content management, internationalization and much more, we always have fun taking on new challenges.
Whatdo we value?
We believe we should align our development resources to your business objectives. This involves understanding the operations of your company well enough to justify internal improvements.
Daily communication is the key to keeping a project under control.
Because no one can predict the future, we believe we have to be as flexible as possible. We don't believe in fixed specs. We want the solution we develop for you to adapt to the market's needs.
We believe in dividing the life-cycle of a project into small/manageable development iterations (chunks). By using an iterative development and finding compromises between usability, features, and/or execution speed, our customers end up getting to use their product earlier and therefore saving a lot valuable resources and gaining more meaningful feedback.
We believe that using coding best practices greatly reduces the probability of introducing errors into our customers' applications. It also helps with keeping a coding standard for our team (BDD with RSpec, Capistrano deployment etc...).
Because we know too well that feature-creeping is a reality, we want to help you keep things simple. We believe in powerful yet simple solutions. The guys at 37signals have written a nice book (available online) covering this concept at length.
